Just in time for the holiday season, Bill O’Reilly invited David Silverman, president of the American Atheists, onto his show ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ to discuss the ‘War on Christmas.’

While Bill O’Reilly makes sure to point out that he has no problem with Silverman being an Atheist, he does take up issue with atheists “messing around” with O’Reilly’s traditions regarding Christmas.

O’Reilly states how he believes that Christianity is a philosophy, and not a religion, and should be treated accordingly by the American government.

Silverman insists that he is not trying to poke holes or disregard any other religion, but only wishes to see a country that pays equal value to each of its different religious beliefs.

O’Reilly later goes on to call Silverman’s view “insane,” pointing to the fact that he doesn’t have the votes to get Christmas’s federal holiday status revoked.

The atheists are a bunch of idiots. They are not forced to celebrate Christmas, they have a right to believe what they want to believe so they should leave others alone !!
Live and let live.
Lord, his Christmas shtick is getting old.
O'Bully lost the argument and then lost his temper. He became load and obnoxious. Silverman never stated he wanted to ban Christmas or any other holiday.Misneac is on another Christian crusade, a standard bearer for the teabaggers. I notice seanmor is self promoting again Silverman would probably accept an invitation to your gathering.Misrepresenting Mr. Silverman is a form of bigotry.
The fact that Fox "Nerws" cals its Christimas Party a Holiday Party needs to be investigated. Is it because Fox and O'Reilly really hate Christmas and are only pretending to defend it it in order to win more Republican votes?
That guy Silverman is some bigoted and warped clown ! So sensitive why dosent he propose ban banning Islamic ,Jewish holidays etc. , some chance . Fox News is not banned in Britain ,I watch it regularly - so much for informed comment .
O'Reilly is the mouth piece for Fox news, which if you check the web is banned in Britain and Canada airwaves for spreading/ tellling vicious lies. As well as being part of the illegal wire tapping flap in England. He's also responsible for whipping up hatred of Obama by the extremist white protestants for whom Obama is their nightmare come true.. Best shown by how Obama after 2 years in office had received more death threats then all previous presidents combined since the secret service started keeping records in 1948 But the guy is paid at least ten million $$ a year He should have his named changed to Krupp (the manufacturing empire that fed the tools of war to the nazis war machine.
o'reilly gave me a first reasoned counter to that hating tribe member - they who benefit from the reject (that we cleave to) the one who keeps on giving them control over our lives.
Last year Fox "News" called its Christmas party by the name of "Holiday Party." manufactured problem.
As a long time member of the American Legion and chaplain of my local Legion post, I'd like to know if Silverman and his fellow atheists are opposed to the CHRISTMAS PARTY we hold every year for the veterans in an upstate nursing home. We don't want to offent non-believers with our annual Christmas party for our fellow veterans whose service to the nation helped to defend our precious liberties, including the right to worship and celebrate Christmas.
O'Reilly is showing his inate "Irish Bully" gene...as usual.
