On his talk show ‘Real Time with Bill Maher,’ Bill Maher explained how Sarah Palin being fired from Fox News may not be the somewhat comforting news that liberals were enjoying.
Maher instead likens Palin to other axed Fox News personality, Glenn Beck. After exiting Fox News, Beck took "patented brand of apocalyptic race baiting" (according to Maher) and went on to create his own web series that charges people $10 a month.
Last year, Beck made $80 million, landing him in seventh place on the Forbes wealthiest celebrities. Thus, Maher slams such pundits as “con men.”

Says Maher, "They don't care about winning elections; they care about separating rubes from their money. They discovered that there's a fortune to be made by keeping a small portion of America under the illusion that they are always under attack, from Mexicans or ACORN or Planned Parenthood or gays or takers, global warming hoaxers; it doesn't matter.”
“They don't want a majority; they want a mailing list, a list of the kind of gullible 'Honey Boo Boos' out there who think there's a 'War on Christmas' and the Socialist policies of our Kenyan President are so disastrous that the end of the world is coming."

You're a saint Seanmor,or so you keep telling us. You may be good with a rifle killing civilians overseas in your flash uniform. But you really do not know why you do so.

Dannojoyd "we'll probably see her crowned as the King Maker of the 2014 election cycle as happened after the Historic 2010 elections" And she was the real "King Maker" in the 2012 election throwing her endorsement ('cept for Huntsman-natch)behind every Repub Primary "clownadate" until Mitt was the last one standing and we all know how that "coronation" turned out. You probably won't be seeing Sarah again unless you're talking about future issues of "Field and Stream" perhaps (opportunist that she is) hunting with an Assault Rifle.....in the nude.

1) Sarah Palin was not fired. She refused the contract offered to her. 2)Now that Sarah is freed up she has promised to get back in the political fight to stop the corrupt-o-crats in America, so again we'll probably see her crowned as the King Maker of the 2014 election cycle as happened after the Historic 2010 elections. Liberal Americans scoff at the ideals of freedom and responsibility. Conservative Americans understand that freedom is not given away freely, and adults are responsible for their actions. Therin lays the the true nature of the political battles.

".....separating paranoid lefties from their (trust) funds"! Yes of course Scrivener, you must be referring to the 47% per Mitt (Speaking of Trust Funds) Romney?! I'm sure Maher is sorry to see Lil' Sarah off the air. Remember his Quote to her "Honey,I'm a comedian,I never want to shut you up! You see, Maher knows he's a Comedian while Palin and Beck, don't realize that's what are too.As long as "crackpots" like these use their freedom of speech to intrude upon the serious discussions America needs to solve it's economic and international issues,Sarah and Glen will continue to provide "fertile ground" for Maher,Stewart,Colbert, etal if only for them to tip off the gullible lunatics who those charlatans prey on. (Any reference imagined or otherwise to the gullible lunatics in these comments is purely coincidental :) )

I often listen to Glenn Beck and agree with much of what he says, but as an immigrant who gave 4 years of honorable service to the Marine Corps and joined the American Legion 25 years ago,I wish hthat Beck and others who share his pro-U.S.views would put in an ocassional good word for other Irish immigrants who honorably served and became loyal American citizens like me.

The last couple of minutes of Mahers piece is the crux of the matter. Making money out of fear and loathing.

Maher's batting average is pretty good. First "I'm not a witch" Christine, then good bye Glenn and now so long Sarah. Of course these were all such EASY pitches.

Maher is still on the air? He sure is adept at separating paranoid lefties from their (trust) funds.

Bill Maher is little more than a bitter, acerbic and insecure person. His "political" commentary is left wing theater at its worst. He purports to be a comedian. Were it not for HBO and a following of fawning fellow misanthropes, he'd be banished deeper than he thinks Palin and Beck were. Maher is so typical of intolerant humorless ex-Catholics a la Rosie O'Donnell and others.

Maher is well past his prime, he is not very funny, out of touch and all about the dollars. He has called Palin and Palin's daughter a slut and much worse. He donated a $1M to a super pac and then denounced super pacs. To say his is a foul mouth, hypocritical capitalist is an understatement. His audience, what left of it are the lowest info voters on the planet. IT is well past time for him to pack up and go away!

While Sarah Palin or Glen Beck are not people to be admired by the right or the left neither is Maher. He is no better
