Barbara Sheehan sentenced to five years for gun possession charges

I feel bad for Barbara! She apparently (I believe) suffered years of abuse, at the hands of her husband. This reminds me of Bernard Goetz, when he shot 4 muggers in the NYC subway, 12/22/84. He was acquitted of the shootings, but convicted of illegal gun possession. Judge Crane sentenced him to 8 months in jail, which was extended by 2 weeks, due to a minor prison violation, while on Rikers Island. Muggings sharply decreased, after this news-incident & aquittal of shooting charges, fanned out. I hope Barbara's appeal is successful. The comparison to Plaxico Burress is accurate, even though the only one Plaxico shot was himself!

Her husband was a retired cop and the court established that they were not his guns? I guess she needs to suit up once for the NFL to get her sentence reduced to an "official celebrity slap on the wrist."
