Barack Obama’s Irish cousins get ready for victory celebration
Ancestral town Moneygall ready to party if Obama wins the Presidential Election 2012
Moneygall, County Offaly Barack Obama’s hometown in Ireland will throw a huge party tonight if he wins the election.
“There is a bit of a hooley with music and stuff like that in the pub,” Henry Healy, known universally as Henry the Eighth because he’s Obama’s eight cousin told the Irish Independent.
The party will be in Ollie Hayes’ pub where Obama downed that famous pint of Guinness in 2011 on his visit to Moneygall.
Both Hayes and Healy have been guests of the president in Washington during the St.Patrick’s festivities and may well be on the invite list for his inauguration if he wins.
Healey has already won some money for a deserving charity for a good cause.
"I placed a thousand euro charity bet on Obama last Tuesday for the Irish Heart Foundation, so that's good," Healy explained. The bookmaker Paddy Power has already paid out on Obama bets.
Healy says the Hurricane Sandy crisis has helped the president.
"He got a lot of TV coverage at the weekend doing the right thing," Healy remarked.
