Curtis there were too many opportunities for the brits to take Adams and others out of circulation on either a tempory of permanent basis. It was never going to happen as he and his other protected buddy Martin were people the brits could do business with.

"Oh what wicked webs we weave. When we practice to deceive!" Ever since Pope Adrain IV claimed jurisdiction in his papal bull Laudibiliter over all the islands in the seas, and commissioned his fellow Anglo-Norman/Franglaise King Henry II of England to prosecute his covetuous claim over the golden vales of Hibernia, have perfidities such as this polluted the body politic. The Gaels cry out for reparation. Apologia non est justificatio! Fine words from the British Taoiseach butter no parsnips in Hbernia moderne.

"
If the brits had wanted rid of Gerry or anyone else. they`d have been gone in a flash" It wasn't politically feasible (largely due to Irish America and international visibility of the cause - particularly after Sands' death) and they didn't need "rid" of them based upon their ability to eliminate freedom of expression/press. They could not completely control Finucane's ability to get information out because of his position as a lawyer - therefore he had to go. Aside from high profile targets, it was well established in the O'Loan report that the british terror state policy targeted ordinary indigenous non-combatants.

As an Iris-American Navy vet with a third grade educated grandmother, I am all for the herois of the Irish cause. Joyce Kilmer left his heart in France under a "tree" in 1918 with the Fighting 69th. I have attended the last five St. P Parades from the Midwest. I am a T Dolan supporter. Nevertheless, I have grave reservations for the socialist drift of Mr. Adams. The recent visit by the "radical thespian" Hillary who wishes to take over the world stage should have sent "hot flashes" to those who defend the Catholic Church. Chrissie Quinn and Gerry are "birds of a feather". The goodness and courage of Mr. Finucane is only one more attempt to use the righteousness of the Irish cause to overthrow the queen and overthrow the role of religion in the world.

God bless all those who were involved in the heroic fight against British state-sponsored terrorism in the north of Ireland. And God bless Pat Finucane's family and their organization which has never wavered in their quest for justice. Cameron's apology should also be noted.
