Prof. Sig[is]mund Freud, MD was once said that psychoanalysts need not be [medical] doctors but should not be priests. Although it used to be necessary to be a [medical] doctor to be a psychoanalyst in the US, such was never a requirement in Ireland. It is however a requirement to be so to be a psychiatrist.

What's the big problem? Ireland is full of charlatan "doctors". They usually are from countries like Pakistan and Nigeria. In most cases the Irish don't notice the difference.

This is not anti-Catholic! It is a story about the Archbishop carrying out his moral duty as a citizen and not solely as a Catholic Archbishop.
And all should remember that the alleged offender has not yet been convicted of any crime; so stuff the sly implications and keep a lid the weaselly vitriol!

There is one born every day as the Circus leader famously said. Please God Fr Fagan will be treated gently bu State and Church, and move on with his life. One wonders if he was contacted first before his father-brother- bishop made the police report.
