A new anti immigrant political party is being set up in Ireland.
The Irish National Party (INP), is dedicated to the "immediate deportation of all illegal immigrants and asylum seekers who have had their applications rejected."
Its website says Irish culture and identity is being eroded, with "record levels of immigration and an influx of so-called 'asylum seekers'... leading to the development of minority communities in our cities and increasing levels of social isolation in our towns and villages."
The Sunday Tribune reports that the website warns of the "increasing threat to traditional Irish values," and only allows Irish-born citizens to join.
David Barrett, chairman of the new organization, claims it opposes racism and is not "anti-immigrant."
"[We] rather seek to establish greater control over the immigration process. We recognize there is and always will be a need for some level of immigration but believe a more vigorous system needs to be put in place," he said.
"We wish to see Irish identity preserved but do not believe this is possible with, for example, mass immigration or membership of an increasingly powerful European Union," he said.
They say they have had "increasing numbers of visitors to the website and [a] similar rise in membership inquiries."
"At the last count, we had received nearly 200 membership inquiries and we are currently in the process of arranging our first meeting," he said.
“It is our intention to register as a political party once we have met the requirements, although the party may choose to register under a different name based on the decision taken by members at our first meeting.
"It would be our intention to run candidates in all upcoming elections. We acknowledge that many of our core values and proposed policies are a break from those of the established political parties but are optimistic that this will attract voters."

and by the way dixie,for centuries ireland was an indpendant island rich in culture and with plenty of food,until oor english neighbour starved and nearly wiped out the irish,we were never a country dependant on hand outs at all,you say there is no such thing as an indiginus irish,well then what have us the real people of ireland being fighting for all this time?and what does that make you?you say your half irish,what do yopu mean your half immigrant because what you beleive is there is no such thing as the irish people,i find it quite racist that you so called half irish would say such a thing about your own people,africa=indiginus black african,asia=indiginus brown asians,china=indiginus chinese,AND IRELAND=INDIGINUS IRISH,they are just facts,if you wanna go back until the dawn of time when the earth had just one big continent and we had no countries,thats not the world today,all peoples travelled to their lands and set up there,died for and built up their lands and became indiginus over the centuries,thats just the natural order of things,i beleive every culture should be allowed to flourish without it being disrespected and basically wiped out,i wanna preserve my irish culture in which my ancestors fought for so my kids can enjoy the same,thats all,instead of getting this franchfurt school of thought in which the indocturnated sheep spit out all the time,its ok to love your own culture and want it to flourish,the same respect for other cultures and their rights to flourish,mass deportations will happen sooner or later

so your trying to say that ireland has not got an indiginus poppulation?total pc rubbish that is,ireland in itself has an indiginus population that died fought for an built this country,im not blaming immigrants for the catholic church or our corrupted politicans,im simply saying that our by i mean the indiginus population of irelands kids futures are being put under threath of becoming a minority in our own country,and to stop this we need mass deportations,so that start giving the usual indocturnated responce that ireland has no indiginus people and we have no right to say we are indiginus irish,because my freind that is simply put BS,the bankers and politicans our responceible for ireland and europes demise,it will be the indiginus peoples that will put a stop to this tradegy,and take back their lands from these scum,we need to start making our own laws,laws that will protect the people,multi culture does not work in any country it has been enforced on,you dont see any other countries been so called enriched by it,no only white countries,with people like you saying that we have no indiginus populations,so we have no rights,ireland is irish not african asian or anything else,we are indiginus irish,we own ireland,fact

Ireland is itself a nation of immigrants (for centuries dependent on the charity of other nations), and which Irish ways would the poll be referring to? Incessent-smoking, heavy-drinking, abject corruption, debauchery, the roman catholic church and the paedophiliac sodomization of Irish children? No, I am partly of Irish descent and have lived in Ireland for over three-years, and I'm sorry, but it is not the immigrants who are to blame for Ireland's demise...it's her own people.

no thats a good question miabryant,what we would expect of our irish emigrants would be simple,emigrate to a country and show respect to the people of that country no1,no2 dont be threatning and move on mass and and try to outbreed as soon as you move into some elses country,no3 if that country feels threatend because of your numbers and makes a law that says you are not allowed in that country,well respect that decision and leave and come back home,its up to the people of any country to decide on thev matter of mass imigration and not the corrupted politican,its simple really the indiginus peoples rights of any country should come first and not the immigrants rights,if a corrupt politican let it happen illegally he should be held accountable,there is no doubt about the fact that the indiginus peoples of the whole of europe will become the minorities in no time atal if mass depotations dont start happening,instead we are been called racist because we want to protect the future of our race and cultures,all this immigration is designed to break down the nationalities of nations across europe,its a disgrace and illegal,we are staking up our own funeral pyers by not putting a stop to it,multi culturism does not work and has not worked in any country it has visited fact,it only causes divisions\trouble,it has to be reversed and when people are ready for it they will vote on it whenever that day comes,but its definatley not here in these days,there is to much wars and resentment,corrupt politicans using francfurt tactics are to busy breaking down family values \ cultures,they have the media corrupted the \education systems corrupted\politicians\ we in ireland need politicans for the people in the game for the love of the people not the moneymen(elites bankers),its really quit simple the people need a voice and a say about the way their lives and futures are been ruined

As much as I want to live in Ireland someday I have to say I can understand this completely. Perhaps if the US had instituted & enforced immigration regulations that require an immigrant not only to become LEGAL citizens but to be required to speak the common language we wouldn't have to "press 1" for English in addition to losing all of our gov't funds to illegals who want to vote! If we had stronger regulations about what an immigrant can and cannot do AND followed up on it we wouldn't be dealing with the loss of "traditional American values" from the hands of someone who can't or won't prove their nationality.
But, if Ireland is going to protect their "traditional Irish values" from the immigrants what do they expect the flocks of emigrants from Ireland should expect at the country they adopt?

mass immigration only causes division in any country it has been forced on,the government has no mandate from the indiginus irish people so it is illegal 1,2 any immigrant fleeing persecution is supposed to go to the nearest country to its border an not cross the whole of europe to come to ireland=illigal,everyone goes on about the rites of the immigrants,how about the rites of the indiginus irish,its a fact that left unchecked and without mass deportations,our young irish children will become a minority in our own country in no time at all,look at the rise of TB,look at the strain on our health care,houseing,crime levels going up,our welfare system been swamped,our wages going down,its a disgrace,we have a government that doesnt look out for their own people,instead pander to the european elite bosses,if an irish person wants to preserve their culture the racist card gets played all the time,im not a racist im a realist,i think asia for asians,africa for africans,china for chinese and ireland for ireland,definatley irish people should be in the safe majority,give us a vote on mass immigration and the answer would be known,we in ireland owe no one nothing,we need to leave europe,its corrupt to the core,we need a nationalist party to look out for the future of ireland and our irish children,no more immigration,mass deportations

The root of the problem of ILLEGALS in any country are the ILLEGAL's RENTERS and EMPLOYEERS as the tax payers of the given country pick up the balance of the ILEGAL's tab after their SCAB wages from the jobs they take away from that country's citizens. The DOGOODER groups that speak out for the ILLEGALS should be required to pay TAX like other citizens. A ILLEGAL is a person that enters a country unlawfully. CALL A SPADE A SPADE.

We the Irish people are a nation of lapdogs ! What ever the government say or do to us we may bitch and complain but thats it , nothing !! In france they would riot but what do we do ? Nothing ! We are over run by Immergrants that we never wanted in the first place , Its the goverment and the employers union that allowed "them" in as away of breaking the unions and lowering the average wage of Irish workers .Never mind the fact that therejust is not enough work for us Irish people .Has no one copped on to one quick fix to the ressession is ..... send them all home and that would free up jobs for us Irish people ! simple . Also, we as a country should look to the rest of the world as an example as in can anyone name any country where mixing (or dumping ) aload of immergrants on the host country actually works .Look at england,the usa and france , even after living for years in the country (it was 3 generation by the way in france) the never "fit in" or never will . For God's sake, is this columnist stupid or what>! They're not anti-immigrant, they're anti ILLEGAL immigrant. And plus, a nation shouldn't have to be multicultural, Ireland is an extremely small country on a world scale and our culture is close to being wiped out, partly because of the government accomodating other cultures more than our own. When I walk down O'Connell Street, I hear Hindi, Urdu, Polish, Romanian, but I have NEVER heard Irish, our damn native language! I'm not saying we shouldn't have a degree of multiculturalism, I have many friends from different countries (they actually integrate though), I'm just saying that in Ireland, Irish culture should be the priority, saving the Irish language and the traditional crafts, and integrating immigrants and adopting them into the Irish community. I have a mate whose parents are Chinese, guess what? His names Diarmuid, and he speaks with one of the strongest Meath accents I've ever heard. Problem is, immigrants don't want to integrate, I know no Muslims who actually do things outside of the Muslim community, I live with one and all his friends are Muslim. I personally think this new party have every right to exist, too much politics is based on political correctness, "multiculturalism" and "globalisation", and Irish culture is dying as a result. I may have less vigorous views than these fellas, but I see where they're coming from.

Honestly, I think that today, with the instant communication between people world wide, it is natural that people who feel that they are suffering from lack of jobs, health care or freedoms will want to try to migrate to "better" nations. This is a new age, unlike anything before.

It is a wrong notion that all immigrants in Ireland are here to get soial welfare payments. Many people work here on working visa given to them after carefull scrutiny by the immigration department bec companies cant find any one here in Ireland / EU to do the job. They pay taxes like us and are law abiding. Many cant exactly copy all the things that the Irish people do because they are from another culture. I believe that integration in to society doesnt mean this. Might be their second generation would be better copying you.
Some of them are here for 5/10/or even more years, their children have Irish citizenship, bought homes here etc. So now at the time of crisis, if you ask them to quit their jobs and go back to their country in the next flight, it might not be easy for them.

No one should be allowed to claim tax payers money if they do not contribute to both the economy and culture of this nation.
How culture changes in Ireland, the will of the people and through its elected institutions.
I see many children of immigrants playing the national sport: hurling as well as popular sports such as football and soccer.
That cannot be a bad thing, Irish ways and Irish laws were about assimilation and integration...not hatred of foreigners.

the difference is here kickstart, when we would go to new york (1) we cant claim or scam for welfare, so unless we work over there, we cant survive! so we do all the jobs that american companies cant get people to do! (2) its a shame that america didnt take claim to ireland, like it did porto rico, at least then you would have got a country that could and would supply a willing workforce! rather than wanabe homies!

Regardless where they are from or what country they are in Illegals should be booted out I would like to see those Irish illegals in the US returned to Ireland and then see if they are so generous in their comments when they have to line up behind a crowd of asylum and refugee Scammers down at the dole office, And if you say that Asylum Seekers are not entitled to dole well you better tell them that because there is an awful lot collecting it.

I knew when Ireland joined the European Union years ago,there were going to be immigration problems.Just like the United States Ireland is being sold out by greedy politicians, and bussinessmen.I hope this new party gains a lot of members.I like how the title of the article is slanted as "Anti-Immigrant Party" instead of "Immigration Reform Party".It is really sad when you want to preserve your culture, you are labeled a racist and a Nazi.Yes Irish people immigrated to other countries, but the countries they moved to were multicultural nations.As far as the EU, I am a simple person.I would live in a cave, before I would surrender my culture, and freedom to the European Union hassny007. If it wasn't for cheap illegal immigrant labor you wouldn't be eating vegetables or much else at the low prices you are expecting to pay in the supermarket, your house would be filthy dirty and you would have to cut your own lawn.
Your grandfather probably came through Ellis Island penniless and with a 6th-grade education. Unlike today's uneducated immigrants he was allowed in because he fulfilled the only requirement: possession of a sound mind and body.
