Banning horse racing in Ireland? You may as well try to ban alcohol... Neither is likely.

I agree Horse Racing Should Be Banned, But I'd hate the Horse to be extinct...but God Do they work for their Lives...it's extraordinarily cruel but like so many things there is no connection with soul or spirit, just material gain and exploitation of any life..especially an animals...I am shocked by the heartlessness of Racing and what goes around will surely come around to us all for allowing it continue...and a horses life is reduced to nothing if they don't race....no solution

if it was humans it would be banned,i do believe the horse and greyhound suffer a very short useable? life span, then the horses become dog meat, its an industry, not a sport.god knows what happens to all the greyhounds, joe public has,nt a clue to the true story behind the sport of kings.having said that its a multi billion pound world wide industry, all you can do is maybe make it a bit more humane like making the jumps a little lower, restricting whip useage, they hate that but if it was used equably on the jockeys at the end of a race i bet there wouldnt be one whip.having said that it is a great sport,a great day out and i wouldn't like it changed, just a little less cruel and less exploitative, also jockeys are awesomely brave, you are in front,10 ton of galloping horsemeat coming up behind at 30 mph, fall off,not bloody likely..

Mischievous, morally degenerate riff raff. Why can't they do something useful with their lives? Instead of calling for the practical extinction of the horse, could they not take up the fight to save members of their own species from starvation in Africa and elsewhere, for example? Or is this not a fashionable enough cause these days?
