@gobshitepaddy.You are soooo right. If there is a problem in the world they are the first in to help the people out.Damn!! I just got a message from 800,000 murdered Rwandan's.They told me you are full of Hutu sh*t.That the USA only rush in to protect their own oily interests and greasy foreign investments~not people. The 800,000 murdered wished they had oil at the time, but they had only bananas.

If America is such a horrible place, as Springfield9 hints, then why do so many Irish live here instead of in Ireland? Enough said ...

Springfield9 conveniently forgets that there are over 300 million Americans.

Springfield paints a very poor picture of the United States - a nation that has put men on the moon, has over the past 30 years routinely sent people into space and but for 2 incidents, brought them back safely. The United States has excelled in the areas of medicine, science, engineering etc. etc. When there is a problem anywhere in the world which nation first on the scene to provide assistance? If the people of Indonesia, Haiti, Japan etc. had to wait on the Irish to send assistance they'd still be waiting. Some US carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. The United States has eleven such ships; how many does Ireland have?
If the United States is such a terrible, backward place why do so many Paddys want to live here, their own country having failed them repeatedly?

being a conduit for renditioning pass thrus - surely that
is worth something.
Dev, being that Brit spy that he was - he had to do whatever was necessary to keep his fakery secure. His offering condolence at Hitler's demise was part
of the con game.
Dev's service to the Saxon Motherland needs a better explanation than that written by this Jock scotty fellow and voiced by some of his NI ilk. Surely Dev, one highly regarded by tribe members was proudly brought to my attention - far removed from ol erin - that he was one of them - this Converso Cuban and Co Clare momma fellow would go to bat for those of his own stripe. The painting of him, a Hitler lover takes the cake.
I believe Dev was England's Greatest Spy and the account given here is but rubbish. The Irish neutrality that served Britain so, was a brilliant hatched move between the troika of DeValera, Churchill and FDR. I also believe Dev set up Michael Collins for the kill and helped trigger the Civil War that had brother fighting brother. Dev's overall primary concern was in securing a homeland for his tribe. He being a lover of Hitler is complete bullcrap - a real bottom of the barrel reach. During WWII footstuff of all kind was flowing to the Saxon occupier land as were manpower from every county in ol Erin being ferried back and forth across the Irish sea to help the Mother. Nigh every family had members criss crossing to serve the war effort. The natives later would honor near blind Dev with the presidency - the same as they intend doing with Dev's party newcomer Gallagher. Have a great time trying to explain why such benefits accrued to the benevolent Saxons crowd in their time of need. The beat goes on even today -the love and appreciation of knightings bestowed makes em go gaga. Explore and write truthfully about the realities that pertained over times past.
Than you. WAG not allowed (wild ass guessing).

The American Coporate Tax rate is 34%. You do business where the profits are greatest. Oh, and the tax thing is a red herring. The Irish poulation is WELL EDUCATED where the American population ranks 25th in the world. There are between 16 and 20 million illiterate Americans walking around. Where would you go?

Perhaps, but maybe it might just work for Irish businesses to look here rather that the other way around.
