Mr Hassenstab is buying Irish bonds, he is expressing faith in Ireland and it's government policies. He is not shorting bonds, 'betting on the plight of other human beings'. When Ireland returns to the market in earnest next year, Mr Hassebstab's endorsement might be very beneficial. Perhaps he will add to his holding, at a lower yield of course.

What's the maturation date for the paper this fund holds? Ireland's economy is in a dire state, on par with Portugal & Spain.

Old 'Stab the bondholder, always a popular face to see on Grafton Strasse. Hope he 'Hasens' over shortly after the budget (Dec.6)with a T shirt advertising who is is and what he does, that would attract a 'gathering' of like minds perhaps with a rope and looking a shamrock emblasoned lamppost.
