Gobdawpaddy ... a lesson for you in American politics if I may: Obama visited Ireland not just because of one man (Rooney) but because of the 40 MILLION Irish-Americans that he wants votes from.

I recall that during all the hype regarding Obama's visit to Ireland last year, I opined on this site that this one day visit (as it turned out, about 12 hours) was a waste of his time and he was doing so as a favor to his friend, Dan Rooney, who I then predicted would retire by the end of 2011. Looks like I was off by a month or two.
