FIRSTLY,25 Female TD'S were elected to the Dail. ~ Then:It is not the thought of reproductive processes that puts men off reading your stuff. It is insular statements like 'after all, everyone has an Irish Mammy'- who is the Foundation stone of the State, that don't encourage! No they don't! Not everyone living in Ireland or who visits this World Wide Website is Irish. ~ ~ ~ Many Irish women are quite happy with the 'Elephant' remaining un-noticed as it also means their often tyrannical control of their families can carry on unchecked. ~ Bridget - Mammy of the Year, cracks under the strain of a part-time nursing and hairdressing job, a husband she chose and four children - which nobody asked them to have - drives to Salthill - and instead of keeping going, decides to stop and pollute her lungs and the fresh salt air brfore returning to her multi-tasking lifestyle. ~ ~ ~ MARY,I agree there is a Cultural Problem and the Cycle must be broken. But it is for the Mna na hEireann themselves to break it! - but they never will; because it will mean giving up the one thing they treasure most: Control of the Family. - For me, that is the smell of the coffee elephant in the corner of the Irish Cultural room! So we are in for many more generations of Irish "Mammy's Boys".
Better to use foul language in a post any day, then to read your posts which are just plain foul on a deeper level Georgy.Don't use my language ya bolloc*s..It's much to good for the likes of you.
What word alluded to above, begins with "C"? Is this idiot author giving us more Irish foul language? If so, we don't need it, Go Raibh Maith Agat. The Irish can curse their way to oblivion, but leave the rest of the world out of it.
This is more baloney from Irish central. Every culture thinks the mother-figure is great. There's nothing unique about an "Irish mammy". Cut out the stupid sentimentality, IrishCentral--it's garbage.
