All Irish need apply! Growth in demand for Irish to fill U.S. service jobs

Why aren't more people outraged by this? Was this buried on page 20 in U.S. papers?

???Where are these jobs for people like me an Irish American living on the East Coast and I have over 10 years experience as a bartender, server, manager?? I have been out of work since Jan 2010 from the last place i worked as a server. The competition is tough because so many of us are out of work.I havent been able to even get an interview. I like several of the other good points made on this topic.

Don't care if you are a first or second cousen.. Paddy, Bridget. we have high unemployment in this great land of ours..... Please stay at home this summer... My grand daughters need work. We have to pay for a college education in America.

This is kind of funny because I just returned from a trip to Ireland and most the help at our hotel restaurants were Eastern European. The one girl I thought might be Irish was actually Canadian. So, it appears the Irish won't do service work there but will come to the U.S. to do it.

Are they serious? Sounds like Nirvana. Besides excluding Americans, they also discriminate by age. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Actually, did not see/hear one Irish person in the clip. Heard on the national news the other night that the Northeast has the highest unemployment rate in the country with the South doing the best with manufacturing and retail jobs. I have not had a permanent job in two years. All I can get (and gratefully) is temp work. How about us? And I have dual citizenship so I know first-hand how rough it is in Ireland. But this country needs to wake up and take care of its own first so we can take care of others when we can.

To All Unemployed Americans: No Need to Apply in Ireland. Irish Employment Law: An employer must demonstrate that they have taken all steps as were reasonably open to them to offer the employment in question to an Irish or other EEA citizen. Sorry.

Big advantage to English speakers ... we have all the meskins we need. There is a whole lot more to be done than just pulling the tap ...

Only in America! With unemployment at historic highs we are offering jobs to foreigners? Seriously? Are these jobs even available to Americans? Why not hire 18-29 year old Americans? Irish citizens ( and Mexican citizens, for that matter) should not take jobs away from eager, hard working American citizens. This video could have been a Saturday Night Live skit... it's that ridiculous. Shameful!

P.S. I stand corrected: the current unemployment rate in Miami-Dade County is 13.2 percent (not 12), which means more than 170,000 workers are out of work and looking for jobs. This doesn’t count the Miami-Dade County workers needing a job, but who have given up looking for work, or those who work part-time but actually need full-time jobs.

This article really puzzles me, and indeed is raising my blood pressure more than a bit. I live in South Florida, where the unemployment rate is over 12% - comparable to Ireland's actually. So why are we giving away excellent jobs with free health care to foreigner, even going so far as to advertise and recruit said foreigners? Yes, their accents are adorable but shouldn't we be helping our own citizens first?

I know.The Americans set up a pillow factory in Afghanistan.Employing the taliban to cultivate and then stuff pillows with their own facial hair.The production of heroine might cease and while they are all happilly stuffing pillows the troops can slip out back and fly home.

If you are badly stuck for a few bob or simply need money towards the cost of the airfare to America.Pop round to your local hair loss clinic and sell your beard.Elton John,Wayne Rooney etc pay thousands to have your hair covering their bald patch.
