Why should Gerry Adams be now tainted in some measure by these revelations? When was any family pristine and forever framed on the mantel without fault or some happenstance? He has my full support.
Why am I not surprised,in Africa child abuse is also a problem,I do rate Northern Ireland as a country that should form an alliance with Zimbabwe under Mugabe.2 peas from the same pod. smarock10@yahoo.com
All political leaders over forty in Northern Ireland whether Protestant or Catholic need to resign and let new faces who are not tainted with the crimes or support for the crimes of the past replace them. This will be the quickest road to a United Ireland or a Federation of Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Many Unionists and Protestants are disgusted with the way England has been handed over to a European Foreign Union, where many of its political leaders have no belief in Jesus. Merry Christmas Paddy! May all the innocent people killed under the evil banner of communism rest in peace!
thanks rebelforce, you should go make that point on another of the articles dealing with the news item to VincentRuane, he seems to think Adams should resign.
Growing up in a working-class slum in Belfast, who could the family have reported the sexual abuse to? The sectarian RUC? The Catholic church? I wonder if alcoholism, the terrible scourge of all too many Irish families, also played a role in the sexual and emotional abuse?
If there is one thing that separates Gerry Adams from the rest of Irish politicians in General is his Honesty and down to Earth attitude, He is Extremely Approachable and a very friendly man when he gets to know what you are about.I feel very sad for Gerry and I hope this problem will soon pass it has affected him terribly.
Glad to see that persons are not held accountable for deeds done by their family members.
A great statesman and hopefully a future President of Ireland, an honour befitting a manwho has brought peace to this land.
