I see that Playboy is not banned, but Playgirl is! Playgirl no longer appears in printed magazine form, but I hear it is available on line. Both magazines only show nude people; nothing hard core. I'm glad Playboy is not banned, but women must feel very slighted about Playgirl making the "banned" list!
bogsidebunny@ Ar Ye Brag`n or Cmplainn ?
Change is not always good !!Being "old fashion" is usually good.
I understant that in the 1980s writers living in the Irish state were given substantial tax breaks for income received from their works, even though some of their material was banned by the government.
Ireland has no 1st amendment. You can be arrested and charged for using the "N" word in public. Even if it's not directed at some person. The charge: "Incitement to racism". The P.C. Irish worry more about this sort of thing than they do about serious crimes like assault or burglary. Referring to a White Traveller as a "Knacker" in public will get you in trouble even though a Traveller is not a separate race YET. The Liberals in Ireland are pushing very hard to get Travellers classified as a separate race. Islamophobia is another favorite accusation. Don't dis the Muslims or it's off to jail you go. Ireland has 35,000 to 50,000 Muslims in the country and less than 2,000 Jews. Using derogatory anti-Semitic remarks about Jews gets a pass from the "Racist posse". Jews and Israel are legitimate targets in the Land of Saints and Scholars.
Pornography gives the Loyal Hard Working People Bad Ideas! :)
