The Irish voters are still in possession of their state's economic ball, but they are in a 4th down situation and can't made the yardage, so their best move would be go for the punt.
Ireland is screwed in ways we cannot image..............Having a different currency is won't make any difference.
angrypaddy, I couldn't have put it better. Michael Ring is a TD(congressman) who on the occasion of the Queen of England's visit to Ireland, suggested that the Irish hand her back the keys of the country and apologize for the incredible mess they made of the country in her absence. Your observation 'Its easy to delude a nation of gobshites remember the Celtic Tiger??' is a classic. Indeed, the majority of them believed BBertie's fairytale, spent money they didn't have and are now in tears. They didn't learn anything from Britain's property crash twenty years previous or by their nearest neighbor's experience with letting every Tom, Dick and Mohammed into the country.
Vote NO! Where are all the folks who said the Lisbon Treaty would be a good thing for us? We fought for 800 years for Independence from London and immediately want to hand it to Brussels. Throw out the Euro along with Fianna Fail, Fine Gael, etc..
