Irish police are investigating allegations from a 16-year-old girl that she was gang raped and sexually assaulted in different locations in Limerick and Cork, reports the Irish Independent.
The girl, who gave a statement to Limerick police this week, claims she was raped and sexually abused by several men over a six hour period on February 1. The girl was examined at a sexual assault clinic in Limerick.
The assaults allegedly occurred in the Bruff area in Co Limerick and near Charleville in Co Cork.

Re. the gang rape, the rapists will walk free. Remember the cast where the rapist rape a woman in her home. Admitted it in court and the judge thought he was a good lad for owning up to the crime, so he gave him a suspended sentence. On the way home the rapist threw a cigarette at his victim at the train station, was brought back to court and was jailed for 2 yrs. NOT FOR RAPE , FOR THROWING A CIGARETTE AT THE. NOW WHO ARE THESE MAD STUPID JUDGES. WHY ARE THEY NOT JAILED FOR FLOUTING THE LAWS OF OUR COUNTRY. EQUAL RIGHTS. WHAT A JOKE.

Where is the original report of this? I have seen nothing about such an assault in the Irish papers.

awoken32, can you provide any links to the story of the African immigrant stabbing three Irish women? I would like to read it.

Would not have happened in a Socialist Republican or Irish Communist Society ! Better that Irish Boy`s should grow up to be Unrepentant Bomb Throwing Separatists, than This !

Any connection between this and the recent non-indigenous sex gang horror in the north of England?
Portia777 | Jun 27, 2012, 01:57 PM EDT
Gang rape is the in thing. It is a program totally designed to destroy the spirit of females.Gang rape is portrayed in movies as is the cannibalism- both are predator programming.

horace Ireland has once of the worst sexual assault rates in the western world. A 2002 study "Sexual Abuse and Violence in Ireland" presented statistics that 42% of Irish women experienced sexual assault during their lifetimes. It also found disclosure of these incidents to authorities was low, and conviction rates to be below 1%." True, victims do not generally report sexual abuse because they know from others that they will be made to relive the torture over and over for Gardai, lawyers, barristers, expert witnesses, court. In court, if it gets that far, they will be ripped apart as any solicitor will tell you. She will be blamed of course as generally we are great at blaming the victims in Eire

Angry 'paddy', I LOVE kayaking! Thanks for noticing! Horace, that 'study' is from 10 years ago! Priests were still raping kids back then so maybe thats where your 'stats' come from.

Bythebay...no comment? What, no Americans involved? LOL.

RocknReel: "-The Irish Tourist Board do certainly NOT portray Ireland as a Land of Leprauchans drinking Stout, or in what decade were you last on Irish " Here's an example of the stupidity of some Irish. This fool is telling an American that he, the American doesn't know how Ireland is advertized in the US. What an utter dope you are, RocknReel. How the hell do you know how Ireland is markeeted here? Can you even read? I described how Ireland is marketed in the US, how would a dumbell like you squatting in some Irish pub know whether I am right or wrong? I bet you've never been outside Ireland except to go to some English ballpark and scream for Manchester or Southampton. Moron.
ciaradexy | Feb 22, 2012, 04:20 PM EST
IrelandNorth, I dont believe all I read but i believe my family when I hear about relatives who were abused by priests and when I watch interviews with people from the 1 in 4 group or when I hear stats from the rape crisis centre. It wasnt a miniscule minority of priests either, it was ENDEMIC in the priesthood.
IrelandNorth | Feb 22, 2012, 08:22 AM EST
GeorgeDillon! You're right to a point. But don't do a pendulum swing by going to the other extreme. We're no worse or better than any other liberal democratic open market dominated by accountants posing as politicians. ciaradexy! "Priests haven't been raping children for decades here ...", even if an over-reported miniscule minority may have been over the millenia. It's merely sensationalist press marketing a product called "news", whilst engaging in a spot of historical revisionsism and designer propaganda. As my dear mother used to say, (Lord rest her):"Don't believe all you hear, and even less of what you read. Newspaper don't refuse ink."

African immigrant attacks an stabs 3 irish women an left one critical, the story being suppressed by the corrupted media,no nearly enough coverage, the irish people are not to know anything about this, will he be deported??? bet any money no,he will be let loose on our people, our government should be held accountable for the political treason commited by them on ireland an her people,i wonder what will happen if any of their daughters are atttacked
RockNReel | Feb 20, 2012, 08:58 PM EST
George Dillon -The Irish Tourist Board do certainly NOT portray Ireland as a Land of Leprauchans drinking Stout, or in what decade were you last on Irish soil -if ever ? It just goes to show that there are some people on here who have absolutely no clue of the real Ireland and happily peddle their fantasy's on forums like this to those daft enough to believe it. Thankfully, Ireland has moved on in the world unlike other places I could mention. Of course theres is crime and criminals in Ireland but nothing on the same scale as parts of the Usa and crimes such as this are in the minority so get off your high horse about the ugly face of modern Ireland. You obviously have a large chip on your should judging by your posts on Irish central--wonder what happened to you to end up so twisted and bitter ?
Murph46 | Feb 20, 2012, 12:43 PM EST
Only thing the Gardai are sure of: It wasn't priests that did it as to they are into little BOYS!
ktdearest | Feb 20, 2012, 10:01 AM EST
I could you sound any less doubtful of the situation. You used allegedly, claimed, allegedly and allegations all of which are words casting doubt on the situation. Is that because the victim wasn't Irish as one reader mentioned? The tone of the article in offensive.
awoken32 | Feb 20, 2012, 09:38 AM EST
MULTICULTURISM AN ALL ITS ENRICHMENTS EH,SICK BASTARDS SHOULD BE CAUGHT SENTENCED AN DEPORTED OUT OF THE COUNTRY,WE SHOULD BE LOOKING AFTER OUR WOMEN AN YOUNG GIRLS MORE BY STOPPING THIS MADDNESS,DISGRACE
ciaradexy | Feb 19, 2012, 03:11 PM EST
'' I have to congratulate Irish Central for showing the ugly face of Modern Ireland.'' This was happening to young girls in Ireland back in the 40, 50s, 60s and up. Is this news to you? Priests have been raping children for decades here!
GeorgeDillon | Feb 19, 2012, 02:45 PM EST
RobbCobb: In case you're unaware, you should know that the accused in that case are her fellow Eastern Europeans.
sirpeter | Feb 19, 2012, 02:26 PM EST
Here is the ugly face of the Modern USA.~ 17.6 % of women in the United States have survived a completed or attempted rape. Of these, 21.6% were younger than age 12.The FBI estimates that only 37% of all rapes are reported to the police.
RobbCobb | Feb 19, 2012, 01:43 PM EST
Is this poor girl going to get jailed and victimized by the courts again, as was the Eastern European gal that was similarly raped and brutalized at the end of 2011? Shameful.
GeorgeDillon | Feb 19, 2012, 01:05 PM EST
I have to congratulate Irish Central for showing the ugly face of Modern Ireland. I try to do the same in my posts. The Irish Tourist Board would like to portray an Ireland of leprechauns drinking stout and exchanging witticisms in Quiet Man type pubs. The reality of today's Ireland is different, much more sinister. There was another absolutely horrendous rape case near Limerick maybe four years ago. One of the perpetrators had the good grace to commit suicide subsequently.
