There aren't many people who have Bill O'Reilly's ear, but it seems that God himself may have him on the speed dial.
At least that's the impression that emerged this week when O'Reilly sat down with CBS's Norah O'Donnell and startled her with the admission that his latest book - which he hopes will make the New York Times best-seller list - was inspired by God.
A voice came to him in the middle of the night, O'Reilly revealed, telling him to write his new book Killing Jesus: A History.
The last three of O'Reilly's historical books have involved the murder of famous figureheads.
The 64-year-old Fox News anchor told O'Donnell he was directed to write the book by the Holy Spirit, adding that he suspects it's all part of God's plan for him.
The interview will air on the 46th-season premiere of “60 Minutes” on Sunday evening.” Killing Jesus” follows in the footsteps of O'Reilly's two previous best-sellers, Killing Lincoln and Killing Kennedy.
O'Reilly's Lincoln book was panned by some critics in 2011 for a series of mistakes about the former president but it zoomed to the top of the bestseller list.
According to the Daily Mail the book was banned from Ford Theatre bookstores despite appearing in the top ten New York Times best-seller list for two months.
