  A spell living in Saudi Arabia and other Mid-East countries, as I have done, would quickly make native Irish apologists for Muslims do an abrupt U-turn. It hasn't sunk in to the minds of the politicians in Ireland that Muslims can not be trusted. They think differently (yes even the 'nice' ones). Who in their right mind would trust people whose 'holy' book dictates that it is their duty to kill all non-muslims? Their 'religion' is a cruel, barbaric, hateful ideology which is a major security threat to the West.

  we should not allow anyone into Ireland at present unless studying,even at that,the devil you know is better than the devil you don,t. irish culture is going by the wayside and being annihilated,to be replaced with pseudo-irish culture. we have no problems with other nationalities and or religions,except muslims. be they african,british,arab or indian. if you want to live in someones garden respect their laws and customs,if you don,t like it F**K OFF. the country will get on just fine without you.

  Well lets just take a look at who's been strapping bombs to themselves, setting off car bombs or hijacking planes in say the last 2 decades? There's a reason the term "radical Islam" is in the worlds vocabulary- if Muslims don't like it then police your own, speak out against violence, don't stand by while some Iman teists and turns the quuran into something promoting violence against whomever they decide they don't agree with and for God's sake if some guy draws a picture of Mohamad there's no reason for them to start issueing death sentences- silence is taken as being in agreement with what those nutt jobs choose to do or say. And for God's sake the U.S. government cannot keep tabs on all the nutt jobs here in the U.S. so they ain't exactly going to be doing a bang up job on those in Ireland.

  @mamaginnty - although there are 254 countries in the world, most sources say there are only 198 nationalities in the U.S. The number may be open to debate, I don't know, but 198 is probably close to being the correct number.

  I would not be at all surprised if Islamic extremist are using Ireland. I believe it most likely has the reputation as a safe haven throughout the world and the IRA may even help. I was in Ennis, County Clare, in 2001 and found it to be a very nice clean town. I returned in 2007 and found it very different, a more darker edge. Then I was walking down a street and two men came towards me. They were obviously of Arab stock and they gave me such an evil eye I was worried they might do something. They probably recognized me as an American and could not hide their hate. If there are people like that in Ennis then, yes, Islamic extremists could be there, too.

Once she has identified which of the bearded guys shuffling around the marriage office is her "groom", and signed a few papers, the Latvian hooker flies back home. The Pak stays in Ireland. This scam gives residence rights to the Pak, and a few thousand bucks to the Latvian. It gives nothing to Ireland but another welfare pimp, who will immediately start to work to bring over Uncle Ali or Cousin Hassan.   I believe there are at least 40,000 muslims in ireland,overall compared to other western nations their population seems to nearly double every 10 years,many of these are in sham marriages,where they marry,convert and have children with east europeans,pakistanis,nigerians,arabs are everywhere now,irish people are being forced to emigrate for work,whilst these people will never go,terrorist attacks will happen someday,its in the nature of islam to wage war on the unbelievers

  It gets monotonous having to correct careless columnists on Irish Central. Yet again there's a blooper. The headline speaks of 40,000 Irish Muslims. This is complete nonsense. There aren't 40.000 Irish Muslims. The body of the article puts it more accurately--"Ireland’s Muslim population of around 40,000". The great majority of these are foreign migrants, not Irish. Of course why paks, Afghans, Arabs etc. are being permitted to settle Ireland in their tens of thousands is a question that our columnist never thinks to ask.

  I don't believe there are 40,000 Muslims in Ireland, for one thing. We will know later this summer (a misnomer for sure) when the 2011 stats are released. Nonetheless, being Muslim does not translate to 'enemy'. If one were to read the Quoran, one would know that Mohammed did not condone murder, and that a Jihad must be justified by the Muslim faith being threatened. Is it possible there are terrorists among the rather peaceful Muslims of Ireland? Of course. But there are terriorists among all people. I am sure the Irish government does not have its head in the sand and that known questionables are being 'watched'. Let's not get paranoid, folks!

Though it may seem a strange concept to Americans, it is not illegal to mourn the death of anyone in Ireland, especially if they share the same faith. IF there are radical Muslims here making any threat, then the authorities here will deal with them, and without the consent of the US. It's high time America got its nose out of other countries affairs, and concentrate on cleaning up their own dung heap.

  I witnessed a verbal argument one day in the park I live in between two Irish women.One of them had converted and was a muslim.Replete with head scarf.One of the women shouted at the other "you're not a muslim you're Irish!!"Made me smile.The muslim women moved out of the park shortly after.What would be the reaction in Ireland if what happened in the UK on 7/7 happened here?I'll tell you the answer..mass vigilantism.Facilitated by the Gardai.Yes, the law here would collude with vigilantes.I have no doubt about it.

  Obviously, this is a big problem. You have a "fifth column" developing both in Ireland and the United States. You can pretty well guess just how the explosives are getting into Ireland for the provisionals (whoops "former provisionals). Irans arms come from China with support from Russia. There are now connections in South America. Iranian "advisors" are in South America who are proxies for the Chinese and Russians. Muslims in the United States are reaching out to "street gangs". Can't anyone see what is developing?

  Ireland would be wise to keep close tabs on the Muslim populatuion. I slam is an ideology/theocratic/dictatorship which has as it's goal the conversin of the world through any means. Learn from France, Germany, Spain...The West presupposes that Muslims come to live in a free society. That may be true for the quiet majority.
