IrelandNorth, it's very obvious you live in the US, not Ireland. Opening it to low authority housing means having to hire staff to oversee the premises and the occupants. What bus service is there? How would they get to the Post Office? the supermarket? the Pub? schools? playgrounds? What facilities are there for children? Your simplistic recommendation is baseless.
An economically prudent compromise to hiring an expensive contract security company. But why doesn't Athy Town Council house some people on its Local Authoruty Housing List. I appreciate Camelot Properties might not be enarmoured by this, but there are no property rights without social responsibilities.
Do these people not remember The Shining? LOL...also, while this sounds like a fun time, if you're there as a deterrant to burglars, and the burglars know there's only five of you in the entire hotel, well, then a prerequisite viewing of Home Alone should be mandatory, heh. Or better yet, why not turn it into a reality tv show? *ahhhh Hollywood has ruined me*
