The whole story of the Ashgard's owner, Erskine Childers, should be told at this time. Englishman Childers and his Boston wife, Mollie Osgood, and their crew that included men from the Donegal Gaeltacht brought a load og guns from Germany to Howth. On their was across the North Sea, the Donegal men gave Gaeilge lessons to Mrs Childers. Childers loyalty to an All-Ireland Republic would cost him his life in the fall of 1922. He was arrested for possessing a revolver, a personal gift from Michael Collins, tried by Free State count and executed by a Free State firing squad.
Let's have all the historical facts instead of the misleading version of revisionist historians.
