DeanJackson. The "War on Terror".Are you for real?Do you honestly think there is a war on terror? The "War on Drugs".lolololol.Lyndon B. Johnson's "War on Poverty"lolololol.Americans buy that sh*t every time. It's the use of the word WAR is what the government is getting ye used too.Hitler used the same technique.Readiness for war.The Hmm... at least tells me your thinking.lol.Listening to seamus60 and how Martin and Gerry were working for the Brits all along will not further your education.
Redbranch. Just look into Mc Guinness`s eyes in the articles photo, now remember the words Perfidious Albion. A nobody on his own but dangerous with his brit backing.
Redbranch I could regale you with a lot. But like others not of the protected species I am patiently waiting for the protection of the once widely aspired truth commission. However as interest in any such venture has lost momentum from all quarters required to bring fruition I may well first pass away of old age. As the same parties mentioned above have now put an ends to anyone talking out of shop for the record and honest history books(Boston tapes) I bite my lip.
Dean but we had, what we have now in 1973, doesn`t make a lot of sense, all those lives lost for articles 2&3 ?
Poor old Seano...still spouting the party line, even when the boyos have come out with their hands up...Pol Pot would be proud of him!!!
Seamus, spot on with your 1:15 post yesterday. Can you regale us with your knowledge of Mr.Mcguinness' involvement in the death of Patsy Gillespie, the human bomb?
ancavker. With respect some one would first have to admit to it. Problem with admitting this one is that Martin by his own admission as a member of Derry Brigade Staff never left the RA until after this. Hard to deny knowledge or being part of approving this operation considering his position. But the brit teflon will keep him well cushioned from any flak.
The Prov campaign was a disaster, and did nothing for the cause of Irish unity. And I say that as someone who believes deeply that partition was an injustice, which retarded both parts of the island. Not to mention I had an uncle who was an original member of Clann na Poblachta a republican anti partition party founded in the late 1940's. That being said Mc Guinness should not just condemn it, but condemn and apologize for those who authorized it.
Forgot to say the execution of this child had the desired effect and kept the doubters at bay until a formal announcement was made.
Sirpeter. There will bo no words of reconcile afforded by Martin to the family of young Ruiri Finnis. A 17 year old Derry boy shot dead in his and Martins home town as an informer. Funny thing about it was Martin had known for a very long time that the war was in fact already over apart from a few of the niceities ( his back room ones). It has been well established that for anyone to be shot dead as an informer, a member of the Army council had to give the order. Can`t imagine the internal security humping all the way to Belfast for permission, when there was an Army council member a few hundred yards away. Basically who ever allowed the execution to go through done it so to boost the pretence that the war was going full steam ahead. Many vols were making noises of the fact that weaponary etc had been taken out of circulation by command of the leadership.
Kilsally. The french resistance had the same problem. No where to keep prisoners.
JBRAFTREE. There are lots of republican ex prisoners who believed they were right in what they done through out the troubles, many of whom took orders from martin on what to do. Yet Martin criminalises these men for what like him they thought was right. An Ireland of equals with a few more equal than the rest. The least that could be done is for republicans to admit to Claudy. The whole world knows who done it. Some chance of any truth commission when players won`t even admit being responsable for serious jobs like Claudy.Because republicans like myself are`nt proud of it doesn`t mean the victims families don`t deserve closure.
seanomelb an the IRA didn`t have a shoot to kill policy, they just arrested all their victims? :/
citizen69.Innocent people get killed all the time in war. What war justified the killing of innocent people??The American war on terror??Invade and kill a million innocent people in Iraq. Why should Martin McGuinness condemn all attacks by the IRA? These statements by McGuinness are about reconciliation
On the day of the Claudy bombing The brit army murdered 15yr. old Daniel Hegarty and wounded his 16yr.old cousin Chris, who was shot in the head but lived.19yr.old Sean Bradley was wounded (shot in the leg) he died from loss of blood whilst in custody. The Brits refused him medical help. None of them were armed,Bradley was accused of been an IRA operative.Victims of Britain's shoot to kill policy. May they rest in peace.
