Maybe one day we will see a flash of brilliance from falconflash and pigs might fly.

anndrewbright...as a Catholic in California, I have observed our dear Cardinal Mahoney. He has done more to alienate Catholics and non Catholics with his obstinant stand on the whole abuse case. He is an arrogant, self important person and I will bet you he is flying first class to the Vatican!!!

The old saying in the Church was "Hate the sin, but love the sinner." In trying to appease the liberals the saying became "Love the sinner, and tolerate his sins." Didn't work. Let's get back to a more conservative Church.

I am from Califonia and I have had the pleasure of attending several masses conducted
by Mahoney. I find your title for
the article uncalled for. Mahoney
Is an honest person with ethics issues
and he chose to tell the truth.
He knows the church has hidden these
wrongdoings way too long. The
title of your article should have
been. Heroic cardinal Mahoney will
help elect a Pope who will help the
church come into the modern age.
California was lucky to have him
represent the catholic church!
Benedict should have been out the
door sooner than this. He created
an atmosphere of mistrust throughout
the world. He did the most honorable
thing by resigning. May the cardinals
pick someone who actually understands
and lives in the real world. If
an effective leader doesn't step
up, the catholic religion may not
survive.

West Baptist church is wrong to protest at funerals...your worst enemy deserves the chance to bury a loved one in peace. If my son were a dead soldier and they showed up, well, out comes my Louisville slugger.....

The usual anti-catholic morons jumping on this one. They apparently have no lives.

The Westboro Baptist fanatics cause severe anguish to grieving families. The current pope oppresses millions with help from haters like falconflash.

The minister of the West Baptist Church is one of my heroes practicing his constitional rights.
Seano is intolerant of the Church but in his mind that is acceptable.

Falconflash, get a life, " the church is growing...and blame the parents ) we were all brainwashed by the church, afraid to speak up, this had been going on for a century and longer.
The pope last year even blamed the children, forgave and
blessed them for the sins of enticing the priest to abuse them. Read up on it, ( pope forgives children ) How sick is that, they just will not take the blame for what they are. I do know people who have been abused by them, and also abused by nuns. I will kneel in any church and pray, but never bow down to any of gods so called servants of the catholic church. Satan will wecome them with open arms, ( if there is such a devil I hope they burn).

Falconflash writes (apparently without irony): "...the Church will have to become much more conservative to weed out the homos..." He wants to turn the Vatican into the Westboro Baptist Church. Good luck with that, and remember to turn out the light.

I believe he is going over and not coming back. The LA justice group is looking into him and have more information than we had on Law who skipped town.
He will be in the monastary with his buddy the pope and law.

mamagin: Ah, Matthew 16:18. The Church is growing, sorry to tell you, but it's not for everyone. Seems like you can't find peace in whatever you're into now?
With all the criticism against people like Cardinal Mahoney the Church will have to become much more conservative to weed out the homos and luke warm like Commentator and yourself. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
