Murph, do you accept that without Clinton there would have been no irish peace process -- how can you say it is farcical, dont let your political views utterly cloud your judgement
Edmund Clinton's father , who died before he was born, was grandson of Irish emigrants, MacBrides from Kerry and Cork
Any list honoring Clinton is farcial at best!
I suppose this is as good a time as any to question the propriety of honoring Bill Clinton as an "Irish American". No geneologist or historian has ever been able to verify his self-serving claim that he's of Irish ancestry. Memo to WASPs Bill Gates and Warren Buffett: if you want another easy-to-get trophy for your mantelpiece, write Irish America magazine and claim you're Irish. The magazine will surely reciprocate in order to elevate the attention to their organization.
Why not add Arthur Harckham, Founder of 32B and 32J--unions for the working man and woman . . . .
mother jones, and the other mother keaveney (both from Cork) - can't overlook mike quill (Kerry)- i pray that these are honored. John Lawe (Roscommon) is another that comes to mind.
Hope there is not a parade for them cause some politically correct idiot would damn sure cancel it as the St.Pat's parade in San Antonio,Hoboken ,Dallas and Chicago. There is an Irish backlash! Get your Irish up and fight 'em!
