One of the biggest questions that the Nelson Inquiry had to ask was how and why the RUC Special Branch, the security services and military intelligence knew nothing of the murder plot, when it was plain they had so many informers working for them, some of whom must have had some knowledge of the plans to kill the lawyer.

Secretary of State Owen Paterson told the House of Commons on Monday that there were failings in the measures that had been taken to protect the lawyer. Paterson said that the British government was "profoundly sorry" for these failures.

Looks like I lost my ‘Id’…as Freud probably never said…
intimated!!
intimated!!
Thankfully I was raised not to be intimated by a bunch of sectarian psychopaths…anyway they got plenty of funds from Bank Raids, drug smuggling, protection rackets, and of course misguided idiots in the Diaspora, especially the USA…although I hear this has dried up since 9/11!!
I hope you contributed generously Dan.
Collusion takes many forms. I was at a fleadh in Listowel, Co. Kerry during or just after the hunger strikes. A Republican group held a ‘mock funeral’ every hour on the hour. The buckets labelled ‘Prisoners Aid’ were overflowing with donations…who knows where some or all of that money went? Used to buy detonators maybe? Would the donors feel that they had helped fund making a bomb that had killed who knows? Many people were intimidated into donating that day…did they collude in murder…discuss.
TiocfaidhArmani and Daithi – Collusion was not necessary for this murder, although that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen…Why would her killers need to be told where she lived or worked? She was a high-profile figure, so her contact details were public knowledge. Why is it thought that loyalist murderers were any less capable of making simple IEDs than Republican killers?
No matter who did it, killing a woman with a bomb is just plain cowardly.
@Citizen69-Please get your head out of your arse, your talking s--t.
I'm proud of you citizen69 a British apologist to the end.Sanctioning state cover ups and lies.
"The state investigating the state. Hardly going to say it was us that done it." actually they have held their hands up in many inquiries but if indirect involvemnt is as culpable as direct involvement where does that leave the USA`s FBI agents (Dave Rupert) that infiltrated the IRA and committed acts of IRA terrorism in order to gather intelligence (as did British security agencies in both Republican & Loyalist paramilitaries?)?
Typical responses here, if it doesn't confirm to your belief of the story then it must be a British whitewash! How quickly you forget the Bloody Sunday inquiry. More inquiries are on the way but of course no sign of any into IRA activity. Here we can add another £46 million pounds on top of the over £200 million for the B.S. inquiry. Money that could be far better spent on hospitals or education.
The state investigating the state. Hardly going to say it was us that done it. They abused her verbally and physically, of course it was someone in the RUC that aided them and pointed the loyalists in her direction.
As if you'd thought you would get the 'Truth' from a 'Official Inquiry'. Anyone who would believe this crock of crap needs to have their head examined.Of course the same type of device was used to eliminate a 'tout',the Brits supplied them both.
What say ye, DanO-GeorgeD-barneyjo?
