Michael Flatley, creator of the “Lord of the Dance”, will take to the stage with his show for the first time in 12 years. The short tour will bring the show to UK and Europe for a “victory lap” later this year.
Flatley has made his fortune from the show, which has played to more than 60 million people in over 60 countries over the past 14 years.
A 40-strong cast of dancers, some of whom originally preformed with Flatley in the 90s, will take part in the show. The “Lord of The Dance” show evolved from Flatley’s work on “Riverdance”, made famous by the 1994 interval performance at the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin.
Having retired from his role in “Lord of the Dance” in 1998, Flatley is happy to rejoin the show. “I am very excited to dance again. I've created many shows but “Lord of The Dance” has a special place in my heart,” he said.
"It will be different this time around. I've achieved my success and I'm proud of what I've done, this is like a victory lap. This time is for my loyal fans who have been there from the beginning."
Flatley’s new show “Feet of Flames” has just completed a successful tour in Taiwan.

"Lord of the Dance" is currently touring the U.S., mainly in the Northeast. It will go to Europe in late May.

eileenkny -- I believe LoD is currently touring the US. I know it's in the DC area shortly. If you mean "Feet of Flame," I'm certain it'll tour the US.

We saw Flatley and his group dance before and would love to see it again. They started the interest in the "dance" and would refresh it to those who haven't seen it.
