I agree, Glenbeigh, the wigs look tacky and are not part of traditional Irish dancing. It's some misguided import from the United States, like vulgar beauty pageants for toddlers. They ought to be dispensed with because they make genuinely lovely girls look fake and cheap.

Don't be such a killjoy, glenbeigh. Did it ever occur to you that the girls (and their moms) like wearing those wigs? Do you even know anyone who's involved in Irish dancing? I suspect you don't. Did you ever even attend a festival or competition of Irish dancing? I'm pretty sure you didn't. Or are you one of those Irish in Ireland who sneer at Irish dancing, music and language?

Those wigs are ridiculous. It takes takes a competition that requires years of practice, skill and hard work and makes it look like something spawned from Toddlers & Tiaras. Can you please get back to the dancing and get rid of the wigs and $4k dresses.
