Retirement is clearly not on the agenda for dance king Michael Flatley, who gave his new-found fans in Taiwan an early Christmas present last week with his first ever tour of the country.
Michael brought his electrifying “Feet of Flames” to Maioli City and sold out eight performances, netting $20 million in the process and thrilling more than 30,000 new-found fans. It’s been three years since he performed live on stage, but clearly the 51-year-old still has what it takes, as offers for more shows are pouring in from China, Japan and other Far East markets.
Michael’s troupe of more than 100 dancers and musicians impressed the mayor of Maioli so much that he ordered up a 15 minute display of fireworks to celebrate the occasion.
That must have pleased Michael’s young son Michael Junior to no end. The littlest Flatley, all of two years old, was in the front row watching his dad dance for the first time live.

He's a disgrace to his country, which, we should never forget, is the United States.

In my opinion this guy is now milking an Eastern and Oriental market with a trumped up version of Irish Dance given his middle-age spread and trundled foot-work. Recent photos and appearances on Dancing With The Stars in the U.S are of a plump fellow past his zenith and prime. 'Good Luck' to him nevertheless in making a few bucks before old age.

its not Irish dancing, his kind of dancing began in Canada and is in no way linked to the Set dancing whihc derives from Sean Nos which is truly irish and not invented in the 'New World. No in the slightest bit Irish, except for the music.

He's good - but Irish? Why must we always want to change something? Sure & he could have danced "traditional" & still have brought the house down!

Keep on keeping on dancing your heart out - you've opened Irish dancing to the world. That stiff as a board look that was pre Michael now appears galactic robotic. Given the pile on of years y'all won't be flying through the air as you were - that's not a bad ting it may help an evolution to another form. Please use mannish male voices instead of the angelic wailing that you've employed since your beginning notice.

I think this is great! I hope that Michael decides to do a few shows here in the states so those of us on this side of the world can see him perform again. BTW, couldn't you have at least found a more current photo to use instead of one that is 12 years old?
