Smithwicks is different in Ireland and the US. In Ireland it has a red appearance. In the US it's the same color as porter. The logo is different too.

What a load of nonsense! There are many great craft beers from small breweries all over Ireland that taste a lot better than the ones on offer here, most of which are average. An ale called 'Clotworthy Dobbin' from a small brewery in Co. Down was acclaimed as one of the top beers in the world in an international competition last year.
