Irish beef and onion pie

Beef and onion pie

Here at IrishCentral we believe that whenever possible a terrific recipe should be tried and tested by us before we offer to you.

That’s the case with this particular recipe, which has passed our own taste test with flying colors, probably because it’s been created by Jamie Oliver, one of the world’s most famous chef’s, for his latest book "Jamie’s Food Revolution."

Oliver’s recipe is an example of taking what works best in British and Irish cooking and adding a chef’s knowhow; he likes to keeps things simple and delicious and once you’ve tried this hearty dish we believe it’ll become a kitchen staple for you every week (it’s really is relatively easy to prepare and the results will make a true covert of you).

Marmite is dark brown-colored savory spread made from the yeast that is a by-product of the brewing industry. It has a very strong, slightly salty flavor. It comes in small (2-5 inches high) glass jars with a distinctive yellow lid. It has a high B-vitamin content, as well as riboflavin and niacin—and as such is very healthy.
What the HELL is MARMITE????
You can buy Marmite in any Whole Foods or any well stocked supermarket. You can skip it and simply use Beef Stock in its place.
Patty, You wo'nt get Marmite in the States,as far as I know it mainly sold in England and Ireland, will be hard to find in Europe. Marmite is produced in England,Just google it! I'm told its nice spread on toast.
I like everyone else wants to know what is Marmite and where do you get it in the USA?
