The Tilted Kilt pub chain and restaurant featuring scantily clad bar staff in looking to set up shop in Quincy, Massachusetts, much to the dismay of the clergy at local church St. John the Baptist.

The chain has been compared to a Celtic version of Hooters which is famous for showing off their buxom wait staff in very tight clothing

Reverend Richard Cannon of St. John the Baptist Church is speaking out strongly against the arrival of the Tilted Kilt pub and restaurant in the vicinity of the church.

Under Massachusetts law, a business that sells alcohol cannot be licensed within 500 feet of a school or church. Rev. Cannon has said that his church was never notified of the licensing of The Tilted Kilt, which would be located within the 500 feet from St. John the Baptist.

The Tilted Kilt, with several locations across the country, is looking to expand its reach up into Massachusetts. According to their website, the concept behind the pub chain “has its roots deep in the rousing tradition of Scottish, Irish and English Pubs.”

Priding itself as the “best looking sports pub you’ve ever seen,” the pub and eatery says of itself that it is a “celtic-themed sports Pub staffed with beautiful servers in sexy plaid kilts and matching plaid bras.”

Angered by the possibility of the arrival of The Tilted Kilt, Rev. Cannon took to last Sunday’s Church bulletin to address the issue. Rev. Cannon wrote: “It seems that a restaurant chain, “Tilted Kilts” has already been given permission by the city licensing board of Quincy to do business at the site of the former “Outback Restaurant,” just down the Street from the church.

“Tilted Kilts Restaurants” have been described to be similar to “Hooters Restaurants” except that they have a Scottish theme. Establishments such as this are not conducive to good family neighborhoods in St. John’s or any other neighborhood in Quincy. More information will follow.”

Though The Tilted Kilt’s original application with the Quincy licensing board went smoothly, it was sent back when it was received by the ABCC for state approval. Joseph Shea, the Quincy Licensing Board Chairman says, “It appears the applicant in his submission to the city did not notify the church.”

The Tilted Kilt will get another chance with the Licensing Board on August 28.

They won't stop priest pedophiles ,so now they are going after boobs! How hypocritical!
we have one in Ocala and they are not worse then Hooters Get over it
I've got the horn from just watching the video!
Perhaps a opening for a new pub and restaurnat chaing for within 500 yards of th elocal church - The Tilted Sutans and Surpluses? That should pack 'em in, and be canonically correct.
Phew! I'm s[h]ure there were more than a few tilted spóráns in the audience amongst the young hormonly charged jocks. And a drinkin' the devil's buttermilk. Where will all this shameless shamrocks and shennanigans lead to - another word with 's'? Ach, Rev Cannon. Don't be goin' gettin' your big guns off over a wee bit of caber tossin' and haggis eatin'? Take the caber outta yer own eye, before ya take the splinter out of theirs.
When I was playing and doing a bit of drinking in Spain years ago I was dragged out of bed on the Sunday morning with a hangover and when I was asked where we were going they said to mass I said What f.... mass I though then I would get a beer somewhere. When we go to the mass place it was a bar/restaurant they had cut off the half the bar so they could have their mass there and the other half they were serving drink so you know which part I was in. I thought I had died and went to heaven. Now there's a solution to empty churches put a bar in them and you would fill them back up. In regards to the Tilted Kilt it looks like a fun place and to the church there are more important issues in the world to deal with Robbie
Maybe the good pastor should consider encouraging his prelates to spend more time at this pub, and get their minds off the altar boys.
Reverend Cannon is angling for Mr. Cathy to open a Chic-Fil-A shop in that location. Maybe Cardinal George would step in to give the Chic-Fil-A CEO a call. They're on good terms, and the Cardinal appreciates how important it is to keep the neighborhood up.
If Kevin Kehoe wishes to post a bigoted rant against the Church he should firstly learn to spell English words .He is typical of the usual ignoramus with a chip on his shoulder !
Now that sort of pub we badly need in Ireland, would definitely lift the spirits. And the church over here would have to keep there mouth shut and there objections to themselves as there to buzzy trying to defend themselves on all the child abuse there responsible for and still trying to coverup.
Not another Den of Thieves ?
