Irish actor Colin Farrell, who is set to star in a remake of 'Total Recall,' has said that he loves rising to the challenge of doing something that scares him.
"I liked that the idea of doing it scared the sh*te out of me," he told Empire. "I've been quite content, creatively, for the last six or seven years, doing films that, budget-wise, were smaller in scale. Doing a really, really big film is terrifying, but it's that fear around it that makes it attractive," said Farrell, according to the Belfast Telegraph.
The sci-fi film is set in the future and also stars Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel. Farrell's role, which he believes is a departure from his usual parts, is a factory worker who starts to think he might actually be a spy. The actor also admitted he was impressed when he first saw director Len Wiseman's ideas for the movie.
"I met Len, and I saw some artwork and I was just blown away by the notion that I could be involved in something as magnificent as what I was seeing, which was sort of all-encompassing, cinematically," he said. "A child's mind could only wish it could dream in that sort of scale."

If you enjoyed the Phillip K. Dick story, "I can Remember it for You Wholesale" which both films are based upon, Arnie's more loosely with additions of Mars and Mutants to fit the action hero genre, 2012 version more faithful to the story, and giving you something to ponder, on leaving the cinema. What is the real reality?

The original Total Recall has to be the greatest sci-fi move I have ever seen. Let's hope Farrell does this one justice.
