U2’s Bono steps out to support Edun at NY Fashion Week and Sandy Relief

Bono was in New York last week supporting Edun, the clothing line he founded with his wife Ali in 2005 to support trade and fashion on the African continent.  

Edun hosted a show at Fashion Week to reveal its fall 2013 collection, and Bono sat front row with Ali along with VIP fashionistas including Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

"I’m just happy to be at someone else’s show," Bono told Elle UK. "I enjoy it much better when it’s my missus … to my eyes, it looks extremely stylish."

Bono also lent his support last week to the honorary advisory board of the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund, which was founded by Governor Chris Christie’s wife Mary Pat.

“It's an honor to be asked to support the governor and first lady in this ongoing effort," Bono said in an official statement.

“New Jersey is always a highlight of any U2 tour," he continued. "What's inspiring about the New Jersey relief effort are not the names on the board, which I'm humbled to serve with, but the volunteers who have rallied all over the state, in fact all over the tri-state area."  

Now that the Pope has handed in his resignation, could Bono be the next leader of the Catholic Church?  Irish bookmakers Paddy Power will give you odds of 1000-1 if you’re crazy enough to want to place a bet that Bono will soon take up residence in the Vatican.
