Fans of superstar Irish band U2 will travel from as far as Brazil and Japan to see the band play in their home country during their upcoming 360 Tour.

The thousands of concert-goers expected at Dublin’s Croke Park for U2’s concerts on July 24, 25 and 27 has caused the stadium to heighten security and go forth with plans to shut down its GAA museum for the three dates.

Croke Park Stadium Director Peter McKenna told the Irish Independent that in making the decision, they considered the close proximity of museum visitors and the massive amount of cars that the U2 concert will bring.

"There is a health and safety element to the decision," he said.

An airtight security team will accompany the Irish megaband throughout the U2360 Tour, which kicks off in Barcelona on June 30.

The band requested the extra security after having their privacy invaded during their last worldwide tour, where fans were trying to steal their belongings in their private backstage area.

U2 has sold 2.5 million tickets for their 360 Tour in Europe and North America.

The band is especially excited to play in Ireland.

“Expectations are always high, particularly in your homeland, but you know, that's what we do,” Larry Mullen told Ireland’s “Late Late Show.”

“We fly the flag wherever we can. And nowhere prouder than in our homeland.”
