Finally releasing a self-titled EP in North America
The Irish British pop group,The Wanted have launched their first album in the U.S. The “Glad you Came” hitmakers performed at their album launch party on Monday night, held at Bowlmore bowling lanes in New York’s Times Square.
"We've done two albums, so we're trying to catch people up in America," Tom Parker told MTV.
The pop group, who were described as the “Anti Boy Band” by the New York Times, are establishing an increasing fan base here in the U.S. where their 'Glad You Came' went double platinum.
“When someone says, ‘You’re just a boy band,’ I’m not offended. The Beatles were a boy band and they turned out OK.” Tom Parker, 23, told the National Post in Toronto.
“We like to party probably more than we should do, but that’s not a marketing thing — we’re normal lads having the time of our lives,” he added.
The band consists of Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes.
