The Limerick hip-hop comedic duo, the Rubberbandits say that they are not disappointed that their song “Horse Outside” didn’t make it to Christmas number one. They told the Irish Times that they now plan to go into “hibernation” after a “lot of media madness”.

Blindboy Boatclub said “We are grand about it…We never intended to go anywhere near the charts. It was just the public demanded it. The thing is we had no record label so we just physically couldn’t print enough CDs to sell to beat that Matt fella in the physical CD sales charts.”

“I’m sure Matt is very nice fella. To be honest I haven’t even heard the song. He doesn’t look like the kind of lad who could jockey a horse though.”

Mr Chrome said they plan to get away from the “media frenzy. We need to hibernate for a while. We haven’t been able to create during all that frenzy. It all got a bit Jedward.”

Their single, “Horse Outside” failed to reach Christmas number one being forced out of top spot by “X Factor” winner Matt Cardle’s “When We Collide”. However their video attracted over four million viewers on YouTube as well as reaching the top of the download charts.

I think "Horse Outside" is a brilliant song. I've watched the video over and over, and I've gotten to know the characters as well.

One line in particular stands out, F**k your Mitsubishi, I've a horse outside. It's unpretentious good fun. I am definitely a fan.
