The Obamas love Celtic Woman

President Obama meets members of Celtic Woman after the national Christmas tree lighting in Washington, D.C. last month.

Look out Miley Cyrus – the Obama girls, Malia and Sasha, have another favorite musical act that easily blows the "Hannah Montana" star out of the water, talent-wise.

The First Daughters are apparently big fans of the Celtic Woman group, which has proven to be a huge worldwide success since its debut a few years back. Celtic Woman, currently on a U.S. tour, provided entertainment at the big Christmas tree lighting in Washington, D.C. last month, and First Lady Michelle Obama introduced herself to one of the group members, 21-year-old Chloe Agnew.

"Michelle actually came over to say hello to Chloe and shake her hand," Agnew’s mother, an Irish entertainer who goes by the name of Twink, told the Evening Herald newspaper.

"She asked her would she come and meet her daughters because they are both enormous fans of Celtic Woman, so naturally Chloe said she would. She also met the president who said he was very taken with their group and told her they were welcome to come back and perform any time.”

That’s lavish praise indeed! Nice to know that the Obama girls have musical tastes that are more sophisticated than the usual Disney fare.

Presidents Obama's great great great grandfather was born in Ireland. So I guess that means he has something "remotely resembling Irish". In any case one doesn't need to be Irish to appreciate Irish music.
ciarrai, where did all THAT (in your post) come from? All that has as much to do with this article as the Obamas have to do with anything even remotely resembling Irish.
I love celtic woman they are talented nd beautiful.I'm surprised Obamas children like them, good for them. Michele doesn't seem like the celtic woman type but then again, whats not to like, they are great.
Katie Couric: Gov. Palin, do you like Celtic Woman? Sarah Palin: Ya know, I'm so busy, I don't have time for much sports on tv anymore? I used to be a good shot. Now I'm too busy exposing myself as a woman who knows nothing. Katie Couric: I already knew that. Isn't Bill O'Reilly a horsesass?
yes indeed, - i am also a great fan of Celtic Woman. they are a super act luv,em

politicians always try to be on right side. i love apple pie.
Who doesn't like Celtic Women?? Truly an amazing group of beautiful individual voices. I have all their cds. When they sing, it seems like the angels are here.
I don't know... you really can't believe anything he says, you know. Celtic Woman is extremely easy on the ears and the eyes; and I can see why the Obamas were so taken by them; but, if a return performance is in the cards, better make it within the next three years.
