"Taken 2" star Liam Neeson says 60 is the new 40 – VIDEO
Highly anticipated sequel due out this weekend
‘Taken 2’ leading man Liam Neeson has said that despite turning 60 earlier this year, he still enjoys playing action roles.
“I am not slowing down,” the Ballymena actor said on the media circuit for ‘Taken 2’.
“I think 60 is the new 40, I am determined to believe that,” he added.
“It’s good to get this chance to work,” Neeson said. “I love making movies.”
The upcoming highly anticipated sequel sees Neeson return as the viciously vindictive dad Bryan Mills.
Mills has become a recognizable film hero since the original “Taken” was released in 2008. Best known for its extended fight scenes, the Northern Irish actor described the intense rehearsals involved in preparing for the role.
“We had weeks to weeks to rehearse and choreograph these fights and I worked very closely with my stunt double Mark,” Neeson explained.
“We rehearsed and trained every night when we wrap, so that when we come to shoot these fights, nobody gets hurt and we know exactly what we are doing.”
“Taken 2” stars Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen, Rade Serbedzija, Luke Grimes, Leland Orser and Laura Bryce. The film is directed by Olivier Megaton and scheduled for theatrical release October 5th.
