An Irish promoter has warned that Susan Boyle is at risk of collapsing under the demands of the 24/7 music industry.

Louis Walsh - who founded Boyzone and Westlife - said Susan will struggle with the trappings of fame.

"People don't realize that they become public property, and people knock on their doors and their family history is going to come out," he said.

"It's 24/7 and you have to be born to do it."

"I don't know if she's going to have a big, long career. I don't think she's able to cope with the pressure."

Walsh, who guided both boy bands to stardom, said she it was a real long shot.

However, he admitted that she is starting from a position of strength as she is already known around the world.

"She's got great appeal and she can sing, and people like her. She'll have a massive album as long as she works and shows up to the recording."

"Simon [Cowell] has a great record company; she's got the best machine behind her."

Susan is expected to perform at a series of concerts in the U.S. this fall ahead of the release of her hotly-anticipated debut album.
