The name is Boyle, Susan Boyle.
The Scottish star seems set to sing in the next James Bond movie, joining Sean Connery another famous Scottish star, to leave their mark on the James Bond franchise.
The producers of the new, as yet-unnamed Bond film, have approached Boyle to sing the title tune of the new movie, the 23rd Bond production, which is expected to be released in 2011.
Susan's fans have already joined in the effort. A full-fledged internet campaign is under way to have the Scottish songstress belt out the opening tune, like Shirley Bassey and other leading stars have done in the past. There may even be a bit acting part, according to reports.
Bond theme composer Monty Norman told the Sunday Express: "She has the right kind of sweeping voice."
Susan would be the second great Scottish star from the Glasgow to make her debut in Bond films. Sean Connery was the face and persona of James Bond for many years and made the role famous.

I think she would do an awesome job of singing the opening to a James Bond film and if she could have a bit part in it I think that would be awesome too...! Se is so talented apart from the singing ...she has an awesome personality and is cute and funny and I think she would do great in a bit part for a movie and I think she would do great as hostess in her own variety show...she could invite some of the talent she has met along her journey and come out holding her cat Pebbles and sing some of her own choice of songs...she would be great ..I see a big hit as variety shows with one hostess used to be popular in the 70's have disappeared she would be great to reinvent it...!! Hi Niall, What a great idea. I will go to see this for sure, but only if she is singing or in it. By the way, I know you must have more up-to-date pictures of Susan, then what you have here. She likes the glam look. Take a look at the recent shows in Germany and France. Not only are the shows fabulous, but Susan is absolutely beautiful. That will help you get some beautiful pictures of Susan. Happy Holidays.

I think it is a wonderful idea to have Susan sing the theme for the Bond film. But if they were to cast her as Miss Moneymaker, even I would be in that theater to see her. I have felt from the start that Susan has what it takes to be engaging, adorable and most charismatic in the film media. I keep wishing her people would let her hold a hand mic and just cut loose. She doesn't need to be nailed to one spot when singing. Let Susan be Susan!!!!

I would see the movie just to see or hear SUSAN BOYLE sing anytime. She is the best and most wonderful talent in the world today.

Susan sure has a powerful enough voice to do this. She can make a song sound very haunting, perfect for 007. I hope she chooses to do it. How about a more recent "determined look" photo? The lady has said she likes her new more sophisticated look, so why not follow her lead?

It sounds a great idea. I might even go to see the film if Susan sings the theme song. I don't like the photo either. There are lots of better ones. Come on Niall, you can do better than that.I still love you, though, as you have supported Susan through thick and thin and there were certainly difficult times when public support was very thin on the ground. Glad those times are pretty well over, but we don't forget such unstinting loyalty. DG

Hey, I like that picture of Susan - walking into the wind, her hair blowing back and that "don't mess with me" look on her face. Perfect toughness for a Bond film. And as far as the actress(es)playing her, I'd prefer they get an unknown who looks more like Susan and then we can watch her 'dream come true' as well! Merry Christmas, Niall!

Yes, yes, yes! Would love for Susan to leave her mark on the James Bond dynasty. As bunnyohare said, "Nobody does it better!"

Oh la, la, this would be GREAT, as she loves to be in the studio. So let's hope that it WILL happen!

I love Sean Connery. He represents what a real man is! Susan Boyle should indeed sing the track. Her voice suits it perfectly. Pebbles could star in it too!
Lovebites | Dec 20, 2009, 11:16 AM EST
Hi good human Niall: Am in cat-iac arrest with anticipation and joy for Ms. Boyle. Definitely put her in the Bond movie with her moggy, Pebbles. Then queue her up in an imaginative role as Scotty's singing aunt in the next Star Trek movie--she'd be perfect and that would definitely be the highest grossing feature film of all time. Someone, get me a defibrilator now! Lovebites

"SusaBoyle007 - Licensed To Sing?" Yes indeed, IF EON Productions contracts with Susan to sing the next Bond film she easly would be the most famous Bond singer since Welsh born Shirley Veronica Bassey sang the "Goldfinger" title back in 1964 perhaps even more so as she will have an international best seller to draw much attention directly to the film particulary AND especially if she played cameo wearing a gorgeous RED dress singing in a "smokey" bar as James lookes on - oooh my heart just leaped out of my chest here!!!
bunnyohare | Dec 20, 2009, 11:10 AM EST
I do need to say I agree with SherryM on getting a better and more updated photo of Susan. The one of her holding the massive frame with her I Dreamed a Dream photo and gold CD's released lately is one of the prettiest pictures of Susan I have ever seen.
bunnyohare | Dec 20, 2009, 11:06 AM EST
Susan singing the song in a James Bond movie? Her voice is made for it! If it happens and when it happens there's no doubt her fans will be saying.......Nobody does it better!
jbright9 | Dec 20, 2009, 10:36 AM EST
It would be wonderful if Susan were chosen to sing the title song. It would be one more affirmation of her great talent.
soenengeert | Dec 20, 2009, 09:48 AM EST
I'm very happy about that ! Susan has not yet stoped to impress the whole wolrd !
SherryM | Dec 20, 2009, 09:25 AM EST
Why use this very old photo of Susan which goes back some 7 months when there are literally thousands of newer better ones?! Even Asian websites publish stories with uptodate photos so surely you don't have to just grab any old thing out of the file. Also Susan is not from Glasgow. She is from Blackburn, near Bathgate, West Lothian. If a story is worth writing, it is worth getting the details right.
