Cardinal of the New York Diocese Archbishop Timothy Dolan appeared on fellow Irish American Catholic Stephen Colbert’s Comedy Central show. The pair discussed the recent papal conclave (the election of the new Pope) and Dolan’s new book, “Praying in Rome: Reflections on the Conclave and Electing Pope Francis.”

Recently Colbert and Dolan appeared together at a lecture at Fordham University. During the event Colbert described Dolan as his "personal BFF" or "Bishop Friend Forever."

On Tuesday night, on “The Colbert Report” Colbert greeted the Archbishop saying, “You’re the second most famous Catholic in America — after myself."

Dolan was in on the gags too when he walked out and kissed Colbert’s hand as if he were greeting the Pope.

Colbert, possibly a little flustered replied, “I’ve got to get a nice big ring if you’re going to be kissing my hand.”
