After walking in the shoes of Sarah Palin for her latest role, Julianne Moore admitted she has some sympathy for the former Alaskan governor and one-time running mate of John McCain.

Moore portrays Palin in the Danny Strong HBO movie “Game Change”. Co-starring Ed Harris as Senator John McCain, the movie chart’s Sarah Palin’s rise to stardom during the 2008 presidential race. The drama is set to air on March 10.

“I do think the situation that she was put in was a completely untenable one,” Moore told the New York Post.

To master Palin’s accent, Moore listened to her best selling book “Going Rogue” on tape.

According to Moore, Palin went from having a comfortable “open relationship” with the media in Alaska to being mishandled by McCain’s entourage.

She “was suddenly almost in lockdown, where [she] wasn’t allowed to speak to anybody unless it went through the proper channels. They were telling her what to do and how to dress. And how to behave,” Moore said.

“So they take a candidate for what she is and what she represents, and they want to make her into something else.”

“People did see that she was not as prepared as they would have liked her to be. And they saw it in the various interviews that we all saw,” the actress said.

Paying tribute to the mother of five, Moore described her as “very canny”.

“She’s extremely hardworking and ambitious, and would not have reached the place that she reached without ability. You don’t get to be a vice-presidential candidate by accident.”

Oh, for God's sake...will you people stop with the Obama-isn't-really-an-American crap already? It's been done to death and no one has found anything in the way of actual evidence that would hold up in a court of law to show anything but that he was A -- born in the US and B -- is a US citizen so C -- IS qualified to be President. BTW -- when are you going to apply your same standards to John McCain, who was born in Panama, and Mitt Romney, who was born in Mexico? You got proof their daddies was American?
@ Porickseantuny - dude, you forgot about the "fact" that our President was born in Kenya! But then that one kinda blew up on you? And then there's the TelePrompTer meme, but, of course, that's been dropped - I'm watching Willard delivering his victory speech on one in Michigan right now. Palin is disappearing off the political stage as Willard will November 6. Count on it.
Julianne like all other actresses screwed up royally by thinking she needed to say more than she did. Don't get me wrong, everything I hear about Julianne is F-ing incrdible, she helps with non profits, and young children, but I just cannot stand the fact that she made the obligatory attempt to stick up for Palin. ..... Oh and by the way, of course you can randomly end up as a VP candidate!!! you need the right timing, momentum, and media blitz, it isn't until the campagin until people find out how screwy you actually are.
Palin as "victim"? Huh? I'm guessing Julianne Moore voted McCain/Palin in 2008 and will vote for the Repub nominee in 2012. "Ms. Moore, could you tell us the name of one news magazine you read". "No?". "Not even one?" Bless Katie Couric.
Bravo Porickseantuny,Bravo! Many unanswered questions about BHO,but liberal press doesn't care!
How is it that the press could find out all about Palin's educational history but nothing about Obama's except what he had already revealed in his own self laudatory biography. Where are the guys who accompanied him to Pakistan, the passport he used to get there, the syllabus for any classes he taught, any law review articles he wrote, his transcripts. The press got Palin's history, why not Obama's? She worked her way through college with no affirmative action awards available to her. Katy Curic was worried about what Palin read, she should have been worried about how much golf Obama played. When the hell would you have time to read a book while campaigning?
Mishandled by the McCain entourage? Told what to say, think, wear? It couldn't have been that the McCain team, after reaching deep into left field, excuse me, deep right field, for a candidate that would shake up the Presidential campaign, discovered upon further review, that they had an ignoramus on their hands.
