Simon Cowell has promised that there will be “some surprises” when it comes the U.S. version of “The X Factor”.

While speaking to “Extra” Cowell said “I'm going to make an announcement within three or four weeks, which is going to tell everyone everything. There will be some surprises…Okay, one of the judges has quite long hair."

In the past Mariah Carey, Nicole Scherzinger and Cheryl Cole have all been rumored to be in talks for the show.

The TV mogul also responded to the executive producer Nigel Lythgoe's comments to the New York Post that “American Idol”, and not “X Factor” will the be top show next year.

He said “It's childish, it's disrespectful…I think bearing in mind what we achieved together, I wouldn't have liked it if anyone else said the same thing."
