"the frozen sea of Irish tradition". What a stupid phrase by columnist O'Doherty. Where does Irish Central get these goofs? Every dumb stereotype in the book, all thrown into one ignorant article.

Ireland and the people there need a little sexually oriented provocation.
the root cause of the endless (and hidden molestation of children by your catholic church is not only that priests cant marry (since about 1000AD) but the church puts its head in the sand in general re sex. Its a 'sin" to masterbate says the church. Its a sin to have sex outside of marriage.
So you end up with a whole bunch of priests etc denying their own natural desires.
Ultimately the desires break through, and the victims were the handiest and most easily terrified into silence - the alter boys. (there were no alter girls until recent years)
Sometimes this is called 'sexual immaturity"
But the ultimate crime is that the church hid these crimes for decades if not centuries. Even moving guilty priests to new locations, where unknown they continued their vile crimes, while keeping the collection plate full
I'm thrilled to see the good people of Ireland are abandoning the church of the endless hidden molestation in general.
