Saoirse Ronan was in Tralee on Saturday to be presented with the Maureen O’Hara Award at the Kerry Film Festival Awards.
The Maureen O’Hara Award is presented to women who have excelled in film. Ronan, who was Oscar-nominated for her role in 2007’s ‘Atonement,’ has enjoyed a bright career in her young age. Other roles of hers include ‘The Lovely Bones’ and ‘Hanna.’
Following the ceremonies, Ronan said, “I had a wonderful time at the Kerry Film Festival! It was a real honour to receive the Maureen O'Hara Award and I'm delighted I got a chance to meet some of the talented filmmakers at the event. I hope to come back again soon!”
The Kerry Film Festival continues in Listowel (October 16-18), Kenmare (October 18) and Waterville (October 25).
