I haven't seen it yet but I have read the books and seen the Swedish verson and I don't think that Hollywood can do any better than that. I will hold full judgement until I see it though.

The US film had limited dialogue, lots of diverse music and sounds and shallow character development. Stick with the Swedish version where actors have meaning and hype is less important than plot, acting and drama.
