‘Bel Ami’ is based on the novel of the same name by Guy de Maupassant. In the film, Pattinson plays Georges Duroy, “a man who climbs the social ladder of nineteenth century Paris by manipulating powerful women,” says The Examiner.
‘Bel Ami’ was filmed in Budapest in Hungary last summer and is but one of Pattinson’s anticipated film releases for 2012. ‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 2’ is scheduled for release this fall, and ‘Cosmopolis’ is also slated for a release later this year.
