It comes as no shock that the "Twilight" couple, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been crowned by their adoring public as the King and Queen of Summer 2010.

A number of factors were behind the royal duo's victory. They included the famous shots of the two kissing over the summer and also their movie "Twilight Saga: Eclipse", this year's biggest box-office draw.

The pair was trailed by the paparazzi all summer, on films sets, on the road and in their lake-side hideaway in California. Pattinson was shot on the set of "Water for Elephants" in Louisiana and Stewart on the set of "On the Road" in Montreal. Stewart also had the added publicity of the summer with her controversial kiss with Dakota Fanning in "The Runaways".

An E! Online poll ranked Robert Pattinson as the clear King with 68.7 percent of votes in the online poll. Ranked second was the brilliant Robert Downey Jr, of "Iron Man" and "Sherlock Holmes" with 31.3 percent of the votes.

Kristen Stewart also topped the female poll, with a large margin, next to Katy Perry. Stewart secured 61.6 percent of the votes next to Perry's 38.4 percent.
