A spoof video of Obama playing Daniel Day Lewis in a Steven Spielberg film was part of the annual White House Correspondents Dinner.

The video begins with Spielberg saying that he has decided to make an Obama biopic as sequel to his award winning film “Lincoln,” which came out in November of 2012. In the video, Spielberg reasons that Obama “is already a lame duck, so why wait?”

As the video continues, Obama is cast as Oscar winner Daniel Day Lewis who is cast as Obama and he makes several jokes at his own expense. Saturday Night Live comedian Tracy Morgan makes a guest appearance as Vice President Joe Biden.

In the video Obama as Day Lewis says “The cosmetics were challenging. I mean, you wouldn’t believe how long it takes to put these ears on in the morning.”

After showing the video, Obama finished his speech on a more serious note to the journalists who cover the White House. He reminded them that the media plays an important role in American society, especially during national crises such as the Boston Marathon bombings and the explosion in West Texas. Comedian and talk show host Conan O’Brien then addressed the crowd as the event’s headline speaker.

‘Lincoln’ is based on the 2005 book “Team of Rivals:The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln” by historian Doris Goodwin. The film follows the fight to amend the constitution to outlaw slavery during the end of the Civil War. Day Lewis won an Oscar for his portrayal of Lincoln.
