One Direction’s resident Irish stud Niall Horan was voted as the most desirable male for a recent We Love Pop magazine poll.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, We Love Pop had readers rank some today’s most eligible bachelors by order of who they’d like to marry.

Mullingar native Niall Horan topped the list, besting The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes and Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.

We Love Pop editor Malcolm Mackenzie said: "Like most people, we expected Harry Styles to come out top - but it seems girls are getting fed up with pop stars who cover themselves in tattoos, smoke and jump from one girlfriend to the next.”

"These results show that good boys are hot at the moment!"

Only three of the One Direction lads made the top ten - better luck next year for Liam Payne and Zayn Malik!
